Bishkek, May 31, 2021. / Kabar /. At a briefing in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan’s plenipotentiary for the rights of the children Zhyparisa Rysbekova told about who most often committed violence against children.
According to her data, at the end of 2020, 287 cases of violence against children were registered in the country. These facts happened in 49% of well-to-do families, 39% - in families in difficult life situations.
“Also, out of all the facts, 177 are cases of physical violence, 77 are sexual violence, of which 63 are against girls. There were also 36 cases of psychological abuse. In the case of physical violence, 43% are children from 8 to 14 years old, sexual violence 51% are children from 15 to 18 years old, psychological violence is almost 50% from 8 to 14 years old,” she said.
Rysbekova noted that in 42% of the total number of cases of violence were committed by non-relatives, 32% - by parents, 14% - by relatives.
