Bishkek, Aug.8, 2019. /Kabar/. Kyrgyz Prime Minister Mukhammedkalyi Abylgaziev is taking part in the Parliament’s extraordinary session.
Deputies were outraged that the heads of law enforcement agencies and prosecutor general were unable to make emergency decisions, go out to the people or speak on television.
Today, Parliament members gathered for extraordinary session.
Speaker Dzhumabekov said he received an appeal with the signatures of the majority of MPs, asking him to convene a session of parliament in connection with the current situation after an attempt to storm the house of former President Almazbek Atambayev in the village of Koi-Tash.
61 parliament members, as well as Prosecutor General Otkurbek Dzhamshitov, State Committee for National Security Chairman Orozbek Opumbayev, Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic Rayimberdi Duishenbiev and others are present at the meeting.
Last night, Aug. 7, clash between law enforcers and supporters of former President Almazbek Atambayev took place in Atambayev’s house, resulting in the death of Alpha Special Forces Deputy Head Usen Niyazbekov and injuries to more than 40 people.
Samat Kurmankulov, Head of Chui Oblast Internal Affairs Directorate, is in extremely serious condition (closed traumatic brain injury, concussion, severe brain injury) and has already undergone two surgeries.
