PM Abylgaziev: Government makes every effort to support women in country

Bishkek, May 15, 2019. /Kabar/. The Kyrgyz Government is making every effort to support women in the country, Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Mukhammedkalyi Abylgaziev said at the Second Shanghai Cooperation Organization Women’s Forum.

“Such problems as ecology, poverty, migration and international terrorism are becoming topical in the world. Women play a big role in history and in society. There are moments in history when women became leaders and saved the world from bloodshed. The role of women is very relevant for solving social problems,” the prime minister said.

“The government of Kyrgyzstan is making every effort to support and improve the role of women. The number of women in the Jogorku Kenesh is 16%, in local keneshes (representative bodies of local self-government) 10%, 37% in the municipal service. Also 42% of women work in the civil service,” Abylgaziev added.
