Bishkek, Feb.12, 2020. /Kabar/. At the session of the Jogorku Kenesh (Kyrgyz Parliament) Prime Minister Mukhammedkalyi Abylgaziev submitted candidature of Akram Madumarov for the post of Deputy Prime Minister of the country.

Madumarov previously held the post of Governor of Batken Oblast (Kyrgyzstan’s region bordering Tajikistan).

Abylgaziev noted that by the request of the Parliament and the people, new deputy PM will deal only with the issues of border with neighboring countries.

"The main reason for his appointment to the free post of Deputy Prime Minister, as you know, is the existing problems on the borders with Tajikistan. He is native of Batken Oblast, he was serving as head of Kadamjay region, and he is aware of problems existing in the oblast,” the prime minister addressed the Parliament.

Mukhammedkalyi Abylgaziev added Akram Madumarov, being the oblast governor, was actively working in the commission for the settlement of border issues and proved to be active.

Note that yesterday, Feb. 11 President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov accepted the resignation of Deputy PM Jenish Razakov, who supervised the power bloc of ministries and dealt with border issues.
