Bishkek, June 20, 2020. /Kabar/. Kyrgyz Prime Minister Kubatbek Boronov held on Saturday meeting on the epidemiological situation in Bishkek and Chui Oblast, the Government's press service said.

Boronov noted that over the past 24 hours 192 new cases of coronavirus infection have been revealed, 75 of which cases with unknown source of infection.

"They are more likely to be infected on public transport or in the market. Due to the worsening epidemiological situation in the capital and Chui Oblast, from next week public transport in Bishkek will not operate from Saturday afternoon and Sunday. We also restrict the work of inter-regional public transport. These measures will slightly reduce the risk of the virus spreading from Bishkek to other areas with more favorable epidemiological situation.

In addition, stricter measures should be taken with regard to shuttle buses owned by private transport companies, which absolutely do not meet the requirements for the occupancy rate of transport by 60-70%. We can see that the shuttles are very full. In this part, I suggest that the relevant services consider mechanisms of influence on private companies up to deprivation of their license for a certain period of time," Kubatbek Boronov said.

The head of the Government criticized the leadership of the capital Mayor's Office for the insufficient work on the disinfection of yards in residential areas, playgrounds of apartment buildings, and demanded that these measures be strengthened.

He urged citizens, especially the elderly and those with serious chronic diseases not to go to public places and stay at home as far as possible.
