Bishkek, Oct. 3, 2020 / Kabar /. Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Kubatbek Boronov chaired a meeting of the Republican Headquarters on parliamentary elections scheduled for Oct. 4, 2020, the government’s press service reported.
“These parliamentary elections are notable for the fact that they are held during the coronavirus pandemic. Conducting of elections requires high organization, including compliance and ensuring epidemiological safety. Every voter, commission members, observers and law enforcement officials must comply with sanitary and epidemiological requirements and a mask regime,” the prime minister said.
At the meeting Nurzhan Shildabekova, chairwoman of the Central Election Commission of the Kyrgyz Republic, heads of state bodies and plenipotentiary representatives of the government in the regions reported on the preparations for the voting.
Boronov pointed out the importance of ensuring public safety, noting that law enforcement agencies must work clearly, according to a plan to ensure law and order and the safety of citizens during the preparation and conduct of elections.
“All conditions have been created for holding open, fair, transparent and competitive elections. I am sure that fellow citizens will show high civic activity, come to their electoral participants and make a choice that will contribute to the future development of the country. These elections should become a factor in the consolidation of society around the main values - unity and stability,” Boronov said.
At the end of the meeting, the prime minister instructed once again to check the readiness of the polling stations.
“I believe that the country is ready to hold elections of deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh,” the Kyrgyz prime minister said.
