PM Boronov reports to President Jeenbekov on elections, dev’t of country amid COVID-19

Bishkek, Sept. 21, 2020. /Kabar/. Kyrgyzstan’s President Sooronbay Jeenbekov met Monday with the country’s Prime Minister Kubatbek Boronov via video link.

According to the press service of the president, measures on stabilization and improvement of epidemiological situation, social and economic development of the country, preparation for autumn-winter period amid coronavirus infection, as well as issues of observance of legality during the election campaign in Jogorku Kenesh (Kyrgyz Parliament) were discussed.

Boronov reported on the work being done to support entrepreneurs in the regions and to simplify procedures for issuing soft loans to businessmen.

The prime minister also noted that a working meeting on the implementation of the decisions of the Security Council, which took place recently on the issues of combating corruption and the new anti-corruption strategy, will be held in the near future.

Sooronbay Jeenbekov emphasized the need to strengthen control over the allocation of credit resources to entrepreneurs.

The president noted that many businessmen are not aware of the state program to support entrepreneurship and farming in the regions, especially those engaged in the processing industry. In this regard, the need to strengthen a broad information campaign among entrepreneurs about the conditions for obtaining soft loans was noted.

Also, the head of state stressed the weakening of compliance with sanitary and epidemiological norms and expressed his concern about the growth of new infections with coronavirus in a number of foreign countries. In this regard, the Ministry of Health has been recommended to strengthen awareness among the population.
