Bishkek, July 7, 2020. /Kabar/. The Republican Headquarters for Combating Coronavirus is developing a plan to fight the second wave of COVID-19, Kyrgyzstan’s Prime Minister Kubatbek Boronov said a briefing at the Government House.
Boronov believes the country has not yet reached the end of the first wave. "World scientists talk about a possible second wave of COVID-19, which may occur in autumn. If it does, we must be prepared for it. The Headquarters have already begun preparing a plan to combat the second wave," he said.
The head of the government explained why restrictions are not imposed yet.
"We can't stop the economic sectors, because it will lead to a decline in the country's economy. Having stopped them today, we will probably face great difficulties tomorrow, when the second wave comes," Boronov explained.
He noted that despite the ban and the current situation in the country, associated with the spread of coronavirus infection, some people continue to hold festivities, funeral, commemoration and other family events.
"Prohibition on holding mass events is in force, but despite this, people manage to hold them secretly, enter the cafe through the back entrance and celebrate. We are toughening ban for not meeting these requirements," he said.
