Bishkek, Feb. 12, 2021. / Kabar /. Kyrgyzstan’s Prime Minister Ulukbek Maripov took part in a board meeting of the country’s Interior Ministry to sum up the results of the year 2020 and discuss priorities for the current year, the press service of the Kyrgyz Government reported Friday.
The head of the government thanked employees of the Interior Ministry for the work carried out in the framework of preventing the spread of coronavirus infection, and emphasized that thanks to the efforts of law enforcement officers in conjunction with community policemen it was possible to ensure law and order after the Oct. 5-6, 2020 events.
During his speech, Ulukbek Maripov highlighted the issue of preventing family violence.
"Any facts of violence are a crime against fundamental human rights. They are unacceptable in a civilized society. Each incidence involving violence, including domestic, should not go unnoticed by law enforcement agencies," he stressed, noting the need to revise the current legislation on the issue.
The prime minister noted the activities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the framework of digitalization, in particular he positively assessed the creation of a Unified Register of Misdemeanors, as well as the work of the Tunduk and Safe City systems.
In conclusion, Ulukbek Maripov emphasized that employees of the Interior Ministry must carry out daily work to increase the level of trust in the police by the population through effective and honest work to ensure their safety and the rule of law.
