Bishkek, Feb. 13, 2021 / Kabar /. Emphasize should be made on rational and timely use of budget funds while planning the work of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic, Prime Minister of the republic Ulukbek Maripov said at a summary meeting on the results of public investment projects in 2020.
During the wrap-up meeting, a report was heard from the Ministry of Economy and Finance of the republic on the implementation of public investment projects for 2020, as well as presentations from heads of state bodies responsible for the implementation of projects in sectors such as transport, energy, irrigation, water supply and health care, which account for most of the funds received from development partners.
It was noted that in 2020, within the framework of implementation of public investment projects, KGS 15.7 billion were disbursed, while the has been KGS 18.6 billion, which is 83% of execution. At the same time, the volume of disbursed funds in relation to the initially approved plan was only 67%.
The head of the government noted a weak assimilation of funds on the line of state investments for the last six years. In particular, important sectors such as transport, energy, irrigation, water supply and health care account for the bulk of the undisbursed funds.
Maripov called on the Ministry of Economy and Finance to better monitor and coordinate PIP projects.
"From the new composition of the government I demand a clear implementation of tasks in accordance with the approved deadlines. Each of us must understand that with limited own funds, investments play a huge role in the development of the economy, including the creation of infrastructure. The program of the state investments is 1/5 of the expenses of the republican budget, which directly influences the development of the economy,” he summarized.
At the end of the meeting, state bodies were given a number of instructions to improve planning and monitoring, as well as to optimize work processes in the implementation of PIP projects.
