Tashkent, Nov. 22, 2020. /Kabar/. Turkestan city of Kazakhstan hosted a meeting of Prime Ministers of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov and Kazakhstan Askar Mamin.
According to the press service of the Uzbek Government, the heads of the two Governments discussed topical issues of bilateral cooperation.
The agenda of the meeting included issues related to activation of trade-economic, investment, agricultural, water-energy, transport and logistics, customs cooperation, as well as industrial cooperation and interregional interaction.
Special attention was paid to the implementation of the plan of practical measures to expand and deepen cooperation between the two countries in 2020-2022, the creation of a regional commodity distribution system, the International Center for Trade and Economic Cooperation at the border, modernization of border crossing points and others.
On results of 2019, the trade turnover between the two countries increased by 21.2% to USD 4.5 billion. The sides intend to increase the trade turnover up to USD 10 billion.
Prime Minister Aripov and Mamin attended the opening ceremony of Uzbek-Kazakh Turkistan Textile joint venture in Turkestan.
The Kazakh PM acquainted his Uzbek counterpart with new objects of social, sports, transport and tourist infrastructure of Turkestan - international airport, congress hall, Turkestan Arena stadium, Palace of Schoolchildren, Rixos Turkestan hotel, as well as with the progress of construction of multifunctional Caravanserai tourist complex and mosque for 5000 seats.
The prime ministers also visited the Mausoleum of Ahmad Yasawi, the cultural and historical museum Azret-Sultan and laid flowers at the monument of Abai.
