Poland is ready to provide a preferential loan of € 40 million to provide the population with clean drinking water, member of the Kyrgyz Parliament Almazbek Ergeshov said at a meeting of the Committee on Agrarian Policy, Water Resources, Ecology and Regional Development of the Jogorku Kenesh.
He said that a Polish loan of € 40 million was not received, but there is an opportunity to get it for projects in providing the population with clean drinking water and reconstructing sewage systems.
"The Polish side expressed its consent," Ergeshov said.
Minister of Economy Artem Novikov said that the issue of providing this loan was raised at a meeting with the Ambassador of Poland in Dec. 2017.
"The term of the old loan agreement expires in Feb. 2018, so it is necessary to agree on the issue of its extension. In addition, this loan should be directed at solving social issues. To date, it is necessary to extend the term of the agreement, and only then, we can make our proposals," Novikov added.
