Bishkek, Feb. 18, 2020 / Kabar /. Since the beginning of 2020, not a single kilogram of meat from China has come to Kyrgyzstan because of the coronavirus, director of the country’s State Inspectorate for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Safety Kalysbek Zhumakanov told reporters during the press conference at Kabar News Agency.
He said that at the moment, in the country’s all 32 checkpoints of state borders, employees of the State Inspectorate carry out disinfection of vehicles and carry out inspection of hand luggage.
“The People's Republic of China suspended the export of poultry to Kyrgyzstan and other products in connection with the outbreak of coronavirus. Previously, exports amounted to a small amount, and now, since the beginning of the new year, not a single kilogram of poultry meat has been imported into the country. Now, poultry meat is imported mainly from the EAEU (Eurasian Economic Union) countries and a little from the USA,” Zhumakanov added.
He also noted that at present 13 domestic enterprises are exporting honey and milk to China.
