Bishkek, Apr. 14, 2020. /Kabar/. Today, Apr. 14, Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov held a telephone conversation with President of China Xi Jinping, his press service said.
Topical directions and prospects of bilateral cooperation were discussed, including joint measures against coronavirus infection and possibility of cargo transport resumption through Kyrgyz-Chinese state border.
Sooronbay Jeenbekov noted the Kyrgyz side highly appreciates the efforts of the Chinese Government to prevent the spread of the pandemic, as well as the resilience shown by the Chinese people.
He expressed gratitude for the humanitarian assistance provided to combat coronavirus infection.
Taking into account the negative impact of the infection on the macroeconomic situation, Jeenbekov proposed to consider the possibility of facilitating and prolonging the repayment of Kyrgyzstan's foreign debt to China.
The two leaders expressed mutual solidarity and readiness to support each other in the current situation, agreed to sending medical experts from China to Kyrgyzstan to fight the disease.
Xi Jinping noted that he supports Kyrgyzstan's efforts to combat coronavirus infection.
