Preparation of diplomatic missions and consular offices of Kyrgyzstan for parliamentary elections

In pursuance of the instructions of President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs opened 6 new foreign missions of the Kyrgyz Republic (2 Embassies in France and Italy, as well as 4 Chanceries of the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in the cities of Yakutsk, Irkutsk, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk and Surgut), the ministry reported.

Following the results of the work carried out by the ministry and foreign institutions of the Kyrgyz Republic with the competent authorities of the host countries, 44 polling stations, approved by the CEC of Kyrgyzstan, were formed outside the republic, the report said.

Taking into account the large number of Kyrgyz citizens in Moscow, who wish to take part in the upcoming parliamentary elections, and also based on the need to comply with sanitary and epidemiological safety, the ministry, together with the CEC of the Kyrgyz Republic, opened one more polling station in the Russian capital.

Thus, 45 polling stations were formed outside the Kyrgyz Republic and the composition of 45 precinct election commissions was approved.

In accordance with the calendar plan of the CEC of the Kyrgyz Republic, the acceptance of applications from citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic staying abroad ended on Sept. 19, 2020.

The number of voters outside the country makes 32,602 Kyrgyz citizens.
