Bishkek, Dec.25, 2024. /Kabar/. Deputy Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Edil Baisalov held a working meeting on preparations for the 34th Olympic Games and the 18th Paralympics to be held in 2028 in Los Angeles, USA.
The main focus of the meeting was to analyze the experience of participation of Kyrgyz athletes in the 33rd Summer Olympic Games in Paris. Edil Baisalov noted the successes and outlined key areas for further improvement of athletes' training.
“More than 10 thousand athletes from 206 countries participated in the Paris Olympics. Kyrgyzstan was represented by 16 athletes, thanks to which our country took 68th place in the overall medal standings and 15th place among Asian countries. Of these, six athletes won medals, which allowed Kyrgyzstan to take the first place in the ratio of the number of participants and medals among all participating countries. In the 34th Olympic Games, our country intends not only to repeat the success of the Paris Olympics, but also to significantly improve its position in the international sports arena,” the deputy head of the Cabinet stressed.
At the end of the meeting, it was instructed to develop a comprehensive plan of preparation for the 34th Olympic Games and the 18th Paralympics, which includes measures to improve the training base, strengthen the human resources potential of coaches and ensure the participation of athletes in international competitions to improve their competitiveness.
