Preparations for construction of waste processing plant began in Bishkek

Bishkek, March 1, 2023. / Kabar /. Preparations have begun for the construction of a waste processing plant in Bishkek, Mayor of the capital city Emilbek Abdykadyrov told during a press conference at Kabar.

He said that it is planned to implement an investment project of a public-private partnership in the capital to create a single operator for sanitary cleaning, collection, removal and further deep processing and disposal of solid household waste in Bishkek.

“An agreement has already been reached with the Czech company ReGreen s.r.o on the implementation of a project worth $45 million. Today, a meeting was held with Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic Akylbek Zhaparov on this issue. The initiative was supported by him,” the mayor said.

The head of Bishkek also noted that a preliminary feasibility study is ready, a roadmap for the project is being developed.

He added that construction waste will be recycled first.
