Presentation of drinking water supply and sanitation program held in Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, Sept. 17, 2020 / Kabar /. Presentation of a drinking water supply and sanitation program is held today at the State Agency for Water Resources under the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic.

During the presentation, deputy director of the Water Resources Agency Saipidin Momunov spoke about the implementation of the program for the development of drinking water supply and sewerage systems in settlements of the Kyrgyz Republic until 2026.

“As you know, one of the priority directions of state policy is the development of water supply systems and the solution of key issues in this area. To implement this project, the government of the Kyrgyz Republic approved a development program. The program is designed until 2026 and is aimed at supplying good quality drinking water to the population. The program provides for solving problems and identifying promising directions. In addition, the Shart Tuzot communication strategy program will be demonstrated today. Within the framework of this program, it is planned to work jointly with many areas, including the government and the media,” Momunov said.

The budget of the program is KGS 70 billion, of which 2 billion is from the republican budget. The Program is financed from the republican budget and external investments of the Asian Development Bank, the World Bank, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the European Investment Bank, the State Secretariat for Economic Relations of the Swiss Confederation (SECO), the Islamic Development Bank, the Chinese Government, the Saudi Development Fund, UNDP, UNICEF.
