Presentation of upcoming SCO Summit in Qingdao held in Tashkent

Tashkent, May 30, 2018. / Kabar /. A presentation of the project of the forthcoming summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Qingdao, China is held in Tashkent on Tuesday.

The event, organized by the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Tashkent and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, embassies of the SCO member states in Tashkent - India, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Pakistan and the SCO Regional Antiterrorist Structure.

Kemel Sydykov, the adviser of the Kyrgyz Embassy in Uzbekistan, said that Kyrgyzstan, being one of the founding members of the SCO, attaches great importance to cooperation within the framework of this organization. "It stands for strengthening the dialogue within the Shanghai Organization, enhancing its role and authority in addressing regional and global agenda issues," he said.

The SCO Summit in Qingdao will be held at the highest level, and the joint documents adopted there will serve to further strengthening cooperation between the SCO members and the growing influence of this organization at the international level, the representative of the Kyrgyz diplomatic mission said.

The SCO Summit will be held on June 9-10 in the Chinese port city of Qingdao. Leaders of eight member states of the organization: Russia, China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, India and Pakistan will gather for the first time at the summit. The last two became members of the organization in 2017.
