Bishkek, June 5 / Kabar /. Kyrgyz President Almazbek Atambayev signed the constitutional law on elections, according to which the presidential elections will be held on October 15, 2017, the President’s press service reported.
Earlier, the Kyrgyz Parliament approved the changes in electoral legislation in the third and final reading. In accordance with the amendments, the forthcoming regular presidential elections will have to be held in Kyrgyzstan a month earlier than it was planned that is, on October 15 but not on November19. This is due to the fact that under the Constitution, the six-year term office of the current president of the republic of Atambayev ends on December 1 this year. And all election procedures, including a probable second round and inauguration ceremony, should be completed till December.
