President Atambayev's address on April Revolution Day

Bishkek, April 7 / Kabar /. Kyrgyz President Almazbek Atambayev addressed Kyrgyz citizens on the occasion of the April Revolution Day.

He said that seven years ago, on April 7, 2010 the fate of Kyrgyzstan was decided. “On this day, the long-standing confrontation of the people and family-clan regimes, which brought the country to the catastrophe was finished. On this day that our proud people opened the way to freedom, justice and restored faith in a better future,” President Atambayev said in his address.

Atambayev stressed with pity that the price of the victory of the people was incredibly high, when 86 of people died.

“April 7, 2010 is one of the most tragic, but at the same time very important days in the history of our country,” he said and proposed to mark this day not as a day of sorrow, but as a national holiday.

Atambayev said that today we can firmly say: The April Revolution saved the country from economic collapse and spiritual impoverishment. The April revolution opened the way to the revival of Kyrgyzstan!

“I believe that no matter how much time passes, these events will never be forgotten. On the contrary, at all times the feat of our heroes, who died for the bright future of our country, will become an example of selfless service to our country, people and will inspire a new generation,” he said.

President Atambayev also stressed that thanks to the heroism of these heroes, Kyrgyzstan is changing for the better and developing.

“After April 7, long-awaited peace and stability came to our land. I am sure that the absolute majority of our citizens value this, and we need history lessons primarily to strengthen public, political, and civil accord.

After April 7, we built a solid foundation for Kyrgyz statehood, independent Kyrgyzstan has embarked on a path of development.

After April 7, the revival of ancient history, unique culture and tradition of the Kyrgyz people began,” the address says.

At the end of his address the Kyrgyz leader congratulated on the National holiday and wished everybody good health, long life and happiness.
