He said that, this is not democracy, but resentment that their military base was withdrawn. "They cannot forgive us. There is nothing associated with democracy. Last time, when Secretary of State John Kerry came to Kyrgyzstan, I told him that there was talk about Askarov everywhere. But when he was tried, Roza Otunbayeva was the head of state. And they awarded her. And only when we withdrew the US military base from Kyrgyzstan, they remembered about Azimzhan Askarov and Kadyrbek Batyrov. That's the reason. And John Kerry could not answer. It is not a matter of violating human rights and democracy," Atambayev said.
The Kyrgyz President also said that the current US President Donald Trump spoke very well about duplicity, which he fully supports.
