Bishkek, June 2, 2020. /Kabar/. President Sooronbay Jeenbekov received Tuesday Nazgul Turdubekova, Director of the Child Rights Defenders League Public Foundation.

According to the Kyrgyz President's press service, the meeting discussed the implementation of measures to reform residential institutions for children.
Nazgul Turdubekova noted that the non-governmental sector continues supporting state structures to reform orphanages and boarding schools.
She stressed that the development of an automated database of children in orphanages and boarding schools is among the most significant results. This measure enables the Ministry of Labour and Social Development to monitor the situation of every child who is sent to a children's institution, systematize the registration and exclude the assignment.
According to her information, this had a positive impact on the reduction of the number of children in orphanages.
Besides, the public foundation director positively noted the introduction of inclusive education in the activity of general education institutions
Sooronbay Jeenbekov stressed the importance of continuing the effective cooperation between the non-governmental sector and state bodies on the implementation of measures, aimed at strengthening the family institution, creating a favourable environment for the full development of children, support and protection of childhood.
He emphasized the need to strengthen work to ensure adequate social protection for children without parental care, orphans, children in difficult life situations and children with special health needs.
The initiative to reform the system of orphanages and residential institutions was voiced by Nazgul Turbubekova during a meeting with the President in July 2018.
Later, a working group under the President's Office was established, which worked out recommendations for the Government.
At present, with the assistance of the civil sector, the work of the relevant ministries in this area is continuing.
