President, FM discuss priority directions of Kyrgyz foreign policy for 2020

Bishkek, Feb.10, 2020. /Kabar/. President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbay Jeenbekov received on Monday Minister of Foreign Affairs of the country Chingiz Aidarbekov.

Jeenbekov and Aidarbekov discussed the results of Kyrgyzstan's foreign policy activities in 2019, and priority directions and tasks for 2020, the press service of the President reported.

President Jeenbekov noted the need to conduct a detailed analysis of the international agenda of the country for last year to develop specific proposals for improving the domestic diplomatic system.

As priorities for 2020, he called the implementation of the main directions of the country's foreign policy, building and strengthening bilateral relations with the closest partner countries and foreign states.

FM Aidarbekov noted that last year the foreign policy agenda was very rich: a number of major international events have been successfully held, visits of heads of foreign states to the country have been held. The President of the Kyrgyz Republic has paid highest-level visits to number of countries, which resulted in signing a bilateral documents.

The foreign minister stressed today the work on implementation of agreements, reached in the course of the mentioned events is continued by the involved state bodies.

It was noted that in 2020 one of the main events on the international agenda is the Cross Year of Kyrgyzstan in Russia and Russia in Kyrgyzstan.

Chingiz Aidarbekov also spoke about the progress in preparing foreign visits of head of state for this year.

The Kyrgyz leader stressed the need for well-coordinated interaction between the structures involved, and the quality elaboration of all foreign policy events scheduled for 2020.
