President, General Staff chief discuss measures to modernize country's Armed Forces

Bishkek, Jan.30, 2020 /Kabar/. President Sooronbay Jeenbekov received on Thursday Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic Rayimberdi Duishenbiev.

The sides discussed measures aimed at modernizing the Armed Forces, increasing their combat potential, priorities for further strengthening the country's defense capabilities, the Kyrgyz President’s press service said.

Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces Rayimberdi Duishenbiev presented information on the results of 2019 and priorities for 2020.

He noted active military and military-technical cooperation with the closest partners is underway. Work is underway to improve the management system of the Armed Forces.

As part of the implementation of the Digital Kyrgyzstan Concept, connection has been made to the Tunduk interdepartmental system of electronic interaction.

Duishenbiev added in order to prevent the new coronavirus from penetrating the territory of Kyrgyzstan, close cooperation with representatives of the Ministry of Health and other relevant state bodies is being carried out at checkpoints of the country.

The President drew attention to improving the quality of training of military specialists, improving military discipline, taking comprehensive measures to prevent delinquency among the personnel of the Armed Forces.

He also noted the need to improve their social security and technical equipment.

Sooronbay Jeenbekov emphasized that at the last meeting of Kyrgyzstan’s Security Council, issue of digitalization was among the main issues.

The Kyrgyz leader stressed the need to continue digitalization of the Armed Forces in order to improve information security and efficiency of military structures.
