Bishkek, March 10, 2020. / Kabar /. President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov, as part of his working trip to Batken Oblast, got acquainted with infrastructure and agricultural projects in the region.
In particular, the head of state familiarized himself with the projects for the construction of a logistics center, a milk processing enterprise, a plant for processing apricots, a glass factory, a reinforced concrete plant and a slaughterhouse in Batken, his press service reported.
All these projects are supposed to be implemented on the territory of the industrial zone of Batken town.
The total cost of the project for the construction of a logistics center in Batken is 46.5 million soms. It is planned to partially involve funds from the Russian-Kyrgyz Development Fund for its construction. The project is planned to be completed in 2021, the specified logistics center will allow storing up to 1000 tons of various products.
Completion of construction of the enterprise for the processing of apricot is scheduled for the current year, a milk processing enterprise, a glass factory and a slaughterhouse for 2021, a reinforced concrete factory for 2022.
In a meeting with local residents, President Jeenbekov emphasized the importance of supporting local entrepreneurs and creating the appropriate infrastructure for bringing domestic products to foreign markets, increasing the competitiveness of local products, and their quality.
The president emphasized that within the framework of regional development, work on opening enterprises, creating new jobs in the regions and improving the conditions for exporting domestic products will be actively continued.
The head of state also examined the road equipment being transferred as part of the project “Program for improving road communications in Central Asia” with the assistance of the World Bank.
Jeenbekov expressed gratitude to the World Bank for assistance in the implementation of this project. A total of 46 units of road equipment were transferred in the amount of about 3 million US dollars.
Sooronbay Jeenbekov added that the modernization of the transport network will create conditions for unlocking the economic potential of the regions.
