Bishkek, Aug. 7, 2020. /Kabar/. Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov held Friday online meeting with Minister of Finance Baktygul Jeenbayeva.
The current situation with regard to the execution of the republican budget was discussed. Also, the sides considered issues on payments to medical workers, financing national projects and social programs, as well as the allocation of funds for the reconstruction of schools and hospitals, the press service of the Kyrgyz president reported.
Minister Jeenbayeva informed about the execution of the republican budget for 7 months, presented materials on finding additional reserves, which can cover the budget deficit.
President Jeenbekov noted that despite the large budget deficit, the previously launched national projects, such as the provision of clean water to the population and the rehabilitation and construction of irrigation networks should not be interrupted.
At the same time, he emphasized the need to continue financing the state mortgage program, which has been suspended due to the pandemic situation.
In addition, the Kyrgyz leader stressed the importance of planned funding for the overhaul of emergency schools and hospitals.
"Take personal control of the funding of emergency schools that need to be repaired as planned. The repair should not be stopped under any circumstances," stressed Jeenbekov, addressing the finance minister.
At the same time, he noted that funds for the repair of hospitals in the regions should be allocated in time.
"I visited the regions, saw many hospitals closed under the aegis of pseudo-reforms and the number of beds decreased, as a result of which the buildings of health-care facilities were severely dilapidated. Now they have begun major repairs, and instructions have been given to complete them as soon as possible and put the buildings into operation before winter. There should be no issue of financing," concluded President Jeenbekov.
