Bishkek, May 11, 2020. /Kabar/. President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov received Monday Deputy Prime Minister of the country Akram Madumarov.

Measures to eliminate the consequences of natural disasters, ensure the country's border security and develop cross-border cooperation were discussed, the President’s press service reported.
Akram Madumarov informed about measures to resolve an incident with the use of firearms on the Kyrgyz-Tajik section of the state border in Batken Oblast, spoke about the condition of servicemen wounded.
He said that during the talks with the Tajik side the importance of taking joint measures to prevent further escalation of the situation was noted.
The deputy PM also spoke about measures taken to eliminate the consequences of mud flows in Batken and Dzhalal-Abad Oblasts. According to his information, Leilek region (Batken Oblast) suffered most from recent natural disasters, where the total amount of damage made about KGS 55 million.
Local authorities are working together with state bodies involved to restore infrastructure in the affected areas.
Sooronbay Jeenbekov noted the need of revitalization of intergovernmental commission on delimitation and demarcation of the Kyrgyz-Tajik state border. He stressed the importance of developing joint solutions through a constructive negotiation process.
In addition, the Kyrgyz leader drew attention to early elimination of consequences of natural disasters, prevention of emergency situations and ensuring the safety of residents living in potentially dangerous areas.
