Bishkek, Feb.24, 2020. /Kabar/. President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov received on Monday Minister of Culture, Information and Tourism of the country Azamat Jamankulov.
The President familiarized himself with the measures to support the cultural sphere, reconstruction and digitalization of cultural objects of the country, his press service said.
Minister Azamat Jamankulov noted that the capital repair of a number of cultural objects of the country was completed in 2019.
In particular, the reconstruction of the Kyrgyz National Philharmonic named after Toktogul Satylganov, the Kyrgyz National Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre named after Abdylas Maldybayev, Osh National Drama Theatre named after Sultan Ibraimov was fully completed.
Repair works began at the Kyrgyz National Academic Drama Theatre named after Toktobolot Abdumomunov and the State National Russian Drama Theatre named after Chyngyz Aitmatov.
Also this year, renovation work will be carried out at the Osh State Academic Uzbek Music and Drama Theatre named after Babur.
The culture minister added that as part of the Year of Regional Development, Digitalization of the Country and Support for Children, the major renovation of the Kyrgyz State Theatre of Young Spectator named after Baken Kydykeyeva and the State Puppet Theatre named after Musa Zhangaziev will begin.
He also added the digitization of the museum fund of the Kyrgyz National Museum of Fine Arts named after Gapar Aitiev will continue as part of the state policy of digitalization of the country. In 2019, about 4 thousand exhibits were digitized there.
Similar work will be carried out in the National History Museum and Frunze House Museum.
Digitization of museum funds will allow residents from all regions of the country to remotely view the exhibits and cultural heritage represented in museums.
Minister Jamankulov also informed early childhood development centers will be established in 50 libraries of the country.
President Jeenbekov supported initiatives to support children, noting the special role of culture in the comprehensive human development, society and the country as a whole.
Stressing the importance of preserving and augmenting the country's cultural heritage, the Kyrgyz leader noted the state will continue to pay much attention to the cultural sphere.
Sooronbay Jeenbekov also drew attention to the need to hold all cultural events within the framework of the Cross Year of Kyrgyzstan in Russia and Russia in Kyrgyzstan an appropriate level.
