Bishkek, May 16, 2020. /Kabar/. President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov congratulated Kyrgyzstanis on Mother’s Day, his press service reported on Saturday.

The Kyrgyz leader’s congratulatory message reads:

"Dear mothers!

I heartily congratulate you on today's Mother's Day!

Our people have always been distinguished for their respectful and careful attitude to Mother, her sacred image.

The role of mothers in today's life and the future fate of the country is high.

Mother is a symbol of life, holiness, warmth and love.

Young people's spiritual values, their love for the Motherland and sense of patriotism are formed by mother's warmth and care.

Each child absorbs with Mother's milk the high feelings of love for the Motherland. Responsibility to their country begins with the love for Mother.

Protection of health of mothers and children and social support for them are priorities of the state policy.

Dear Mothers, I express my gratitude to you, who are bringing up a worthy generation of young citizens, who are called to determine the future of our society and state.

I congratulate you on this holiday, wish you good health, long and happy years of life!”

While the United States and many other countries celebrate Mother's Day on the second Sunday in May, in Kyrgyzstan this holiday falls on the third Sunday in May (this year on May 17). It was officially established in 2012, AnydayGuide reports.

Kyrgyzstan first celebrated Mother's Day on May 20, 2012. This holiday celebrates motherhood and the invaluable input of mothers into families, local communities and society in general.
