Bishkek, Sept. 24, 2020. /Kabar/. Today, Sept. 24 Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov held an online meeting with Chairman of the State Committee for National Security (SCNS) Orozbek Opumbayev.
The information was provided on the ongoing work to ensure the country's national security, the fight against corruption, as well as measures to implement the decisions of the Security Council.
Orozbek Opumbayev told about the measures taken to ensure security during the preparation and holding of elections to the Jogorku Kenesh, within the framework of which a plan of joint activities of the SCNS, the Interior Ministry and the Prosecutor General's Office was prepared.
The national security bodies have organized activities to prevent destabilization of the social and political situation during the election process and to ensure antiterrorist security of the country's strategic objects.
In addition, the SCNS chairman said that in pursuance of the decisions of the Security Council of Sept. 17, 2020, the service discipline among employees has been further strengthened, cooperation with the working group of the Security Council on monitoring and implementation of plans to dismantle systemic corruption continues, recommendations and proposals to address shortcomings in the organization of the anti-corruption process in government agencies are being developed.
Sooronbay Jeenbekov noted the importance of ensuring public security in the organization of the electoral process, strengthening control over the border areas in order to prevent members of extremist and terrorist organizations from entering the country.
He also called for strengthening the work of SCNS territorial subdivisions to identify corruption schemes.
