President Jeenbekov laid wreath to the Monument of the People's heroes in Beijing

Beijing, June 7, 2018 /Kabar/. President of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan laid flowers to the Monument of the People's heroes at the Tian'anmen Square in Beijing, the press service of the Kyrgyz President reported.

Jeenbekov laid flowers to the Monument of the People's heroes and honored the memory of the fallen heroes of China.

During this ceremony, national anthems of two countries were performed.

The monument to the People's heroes was erected to the memory of the fighters, who sacrificed their lives in the struggles of the Chinese people in the XIX and XX centuries. On the pedestal of the tablet are huge bas-reliefs depicting eight major historical episodes in 1840-1949. The monument was built in 1951-1958. It has an estimated height of 37.94 metres and covers an area of 3,000 square metres. On the front of the monument is an inscription in Mao Zedong's handwriting, which reads, "Eternal glory to the people's heroes!".
