Bishkek, Oct. 9, 2020 / Kabar /. President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov made another address to the nation on the situation in the country, his press service reported.
President Jeenbekov said that due to the exorbitant ambitions of some politicians, the peaceful life of our citizens and the calm in the country are threatened.
“Along with political ones, there were also provocative calls undermining the unity of the country and the peaceful life of society. Kyrgyzstan is at the edge of danger,” he said in his address.
“The peaceful life of our citizens should not be sacrificed to political passions,” Jeenbekov said stressing that a state of emergency has been declared in the capital of the country in Bishkek because of this.
Jeenbekov promised to do everything to preserve the peaceful life of citizens and the integrity of the country within the framework of his constitutional powers.
“Today we are witnessing a real threat to our statehood. Therefore, we will not stay as observers and together we come out of these difficult days,” he said.
Today President Jeenbekov signed a decree on introducing a state of emergency in Bishkek, which provides for a curfew from 20:00 p.m on Oct. 9, 2020 till 08:00 a.m. on Oct. 21, 2020, a special regime of entry and exit of citizens,ban for individual citizens to leave their house or place of temporary residence for a specified period, checking of documents in places of mass gathering of citizens and other measures.
