Bishkek, Nov. 25, 2019. / Kabar /. President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov received Valery Semerikov, Acting Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, the press service of the Kyrgyz President reported.
The Kyrgyz president noted that Kyrgyzstan is interested in enhancing the role and importance of the CSTO in considering topical issues of the regional and international agenda.
Semerikov presented information on the implementation of the Action Plan for the implementation of the decisions of the November (2018) session of the CSTO Collective Security Council and the priorities proposed by Kyrgyzstan for the period of the chairmanship in the Organization. He expressed gratitude to Jeenbekov for the successful chairmanship of the Organization, emphasizing that all the identified priorities were fully implemented.
Semerikov provided information on the readiness of the documents submitted for consideration by the Council of Foreign Ministers, the Council of Ministers of Defense, the Committee of Secretaries of Security Councils and the session of the Collective Security Council of the Collective Security Treaty Organization on Nov. 27–28, 2019 in Bishkek.
An exchange of views also took place on pressing issues of cooperation within the CSTO and preparations for the upcoming meeting of the CSTO Collective Security Council on Nov. 28, 2019 in Bishkek.
