Bishkek, March 30, 2020. /Kabar/. President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov received on Monday Minister of Agriculture, Food Industry and Reclamation of the country Erkinbek Choduyev.
The current situation of spring field work in the country, including the areas of emergency, ensuring food security in the regions was discussed, the President’s press service said.
Sooronbay Jeenbekov noted that in the spread of coronavirus infection and its influence on macroeconomic situation, special attention should be paid to ensuring food security and support of agricultural producers.
The president also stressed the need to ensure timely and uninterrupted spring field work throughout the country. He added that special attention should be paid to areas in which a state of emergency is in force.
Minister Choduyev said today there is an increased demand for certain types of goods in a number of regions.
He stressed that in cooperation with the Republican Headquarters for the implementation of measures, aimed at minimizing the impact of the consequences of spread of coronavirus on the economic situation of the country, work is being done to ensure a sufficient amount of basic commodities for the population and to prevent price increases.
In addition, the agriculture minister noted in Nookat, Kara-Suu and Suzak regions, where the state of emergency has been declared, operative measures are being taken together with governors and heads of the said regions to ensure the proper conduct of spring field work.
At the same time, according to Erkinbek Choduyev, issues on the movement of agricultural equipment and transportation of fertilizers are being jointly resolved.
To date, 94 cases of coronavirus infection have been registered in the republic.
Of these, 49 cases were registered in Dzhalal-Abad Oblast, 33 in Osh Oblast, 7 in the capital city of Bishkek, 3 in Chui Oblast, 1 in Batken Oblast and 1 in Naryn Oblast.
From March 25 to April 15, a state of emergency is in force in the cities of Bishkek, Osh and Dzhalal-Abad, Nookat and Kara-Suu regions of Osh Oblast and in Suzak region of Dzhalal-Abad Oblast.
Movement for all citizens, except for those who are issued with a pass, namely internal affairs officers and medical and civil servants, is limited between 8:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. (night time). A curfew is established.
