Bishkek, May 10, 2018. / Kabar. / Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov received on Thursday chairman of the Swiss National Bank Thomas Jordan, who arrived in Kyrgyzstan on the occasion of the events organized by the country's National Bank in honor of the 25th anniversary of the introduction of the national currency, the Kyrgyz President's press service reported.
The Kyrgyz President noted the high level of participants of the international conference and expressed hope that it would be rich and fruitful.
"We highly appreciate the cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Switzerland. I express my gratitude for the wide-ranging advisory, technical and financial assistance extended to the National Bank and the country's banking system for more than 25 years. This assistance is very effective," the President stressed and noted the personal contribution of Thomas Jordan to the development of bilateral relations between the countries.
Jordan stressed that Switzerland is a reliable partner of Kyrgyzstan and congratulated on the 25th anniversary of the introduction of the national currency - Som, noting that the Som is the most stable currency in the Central Asian region.
The President stressed that the support of the European partners is very important for Kyrgyzstan and expressed hope for further fruitful cooperation between the two countries, both at the highest level and at the level of state bodies.
