Bishkek, Apr. 12, 2020. /Kabar/. President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbay Jeenbekov received Sunday Deputy Prime Minister Erkin Asrandiyev.
The course of implementation of anti-crisis measures aimed at minimizing the negative impact of coronavirus infection on the national economy was discussed, the President’s press service said.
Sooronbay Jeenbekov noted the priority attention of state bodies should be given to ensuring food security, supporting business activity in the country and socially vulnerable and temporarily unemployed citizens.
He stressed the need to work out various scenarios of the country's economic development by the end of this year with the definition of anti-crisis measures and consequences for each of them.
Deputy PM Erkin Asrandiyev reported that due to the current situation the financing of non-priority expenditures of the state budget is temporarily suspended.
In January-March 2020, the economic growth made up 1.5 %, which is by 3.9 percentage points less than last year. There was a decline in exports and an increase in prices for certain socially important goods.
He said flour and essential goods continue to be supplied to the population in the regions to ensure food security.
The deputy PM also provided information on measures taken by the Government to support small and medium business in the country.
At the meeting it was recommended to strengthen interaction with business to quickly develop solutions to their problems in emergencies and stae of emergency.
The President noted the need to take additional measures to support entrepreneurs in the current situation.
At the same time, Jeenbekov stressed the importance of strengthening the coordination of financial and humanitarian aid, including in cooperation with local authorities.
