President Jeenbekov sums up main outcomes of Kyrgyzstan's chairmanship of CCTS

Baku, Oct.15, 2019. /Kabar/. Kyrgyzstan completes its chairmanship of Turkic Council, President Sooronbay Jeenbekov said at the VII meeting of Cooperation Council of Turkic-Speaking State (CCTS) in Baku.

He noted that during the chairmanship, Kyrgyzstan has made every effort for the further development of the Organization, strengthening of fruitful cooperation and friendly relations between the states.

“If since the establishment of the Turkic Council 55 events have been held, 15 of them took place during the chairmanship of the Kyrgyz Republic. Also, Hungary has received observer status and Uzbekistan has become a full member of the Organization. At the same time, a European branch of the Turkic Council has been opened in Budapest, the capital of Hungary. It will give impetus to the creation of ties between Turkic and European civilizations,” Jeenbekov said.

“I believe that with the expansion of the Organization, multilateral cooperation and interrelationships among Turkic-speaking peoples will develop. Within the framework of Kyrgyzstan's chairmanship, the Concept of the Turkic Investment and Integration Fund has been approved. At the moment, the latest draft statutes are being studied. Since the establishment of the Turkic Council, a joint Turkic Chamber of Commerce and Industry has been established. Their office has been opened in Istanbul in July this year," the President said.

In addition, the Kyrgyz leader noted that, in addition, cooperation between the states in the fields of education and transport has been strengthened. "A fruitful work has also been done to give the Turkic Council observer status in the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. Now the work in this direction should be continued by the Secretariat of the Organization. Besides, Osh city has been declared the cultural capital of the Turkic world.

Within this framework, international events such as the “Ethno-Cultural Festival of the Turkic World”, “Ancient Osh - the Center of Civilization” were held. In general, it can be noted that the Organization works, cooperation is filled with new ideas and initiatives. I express my gratitude to all of you for all-round assistance in the implementation of these important matters during our chairmanship,” President Jeenbekov summed up.
