President Jeenbekov to meet with leaders of parties that took part in elections

Bishkek, Oct. 6, 2020. /Kabar/. Meeting of Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov with leaders of parties who took part in the parliamentary elections will take place Oct. 6 at 9:00 a.m. local time, his press service reported.

Leaders of all 16 parties have been invited to the meeting.

According to data of the Central Election Commission of the country, five parties surpassed the 7 percent threshold to receive seats in the country's parliament. The rest 11 parties demand to annul the election results.

The protest action against the results of the parliamentary elections has begun Monday on the central square of Bishkek at about 12 a.m. local time. The participants of the action - leaders of the losing parties demanded to annul the voting results of the parliamentary elections.

The protest action resulted in clashes between security officers and protesters.

The police used tear gas, flash grenades, rubber bullets and a water cannon to disperse the protesters.

As a result, 122 people have been hospitalized, including 1 medical worker.

4 people are in ICU.
