President Jeenbekov’s address in connection with coronavirus

Bishkek, Mar.18, 2020. /Kabar/. Today, Mar.18 Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov made an address to Kyrgyzstanis.

According to the President’s press service, Jeenbekov’s message runs:

"Dear compatriots!

Together with the international community, we also faced a test of confrontation and struggle with the coronavirus.

Unfortunately, cases of those infected with this infection were registered and in our country.

In this situation, the most important task of the state is to protect the health of all people. At present, the medical situation in the country is under full control.

I urge you all to strictly observe order.

Nowadays, every citizen, every parent is responsible for the health of the whole society.

At the first detection of symptoms you should stay at home, should not go anywhere and contact a doctor by phone.

Every citizen coming from abroad should strictly observe the conditions of observation and home quarantine.

Borders, checkpoints, airports are operating with strict order.

Protection of public order and control of entry and exit from the country are carried out in strict regime.

Dear Kyrgyzstanis!

We have enough stocks of food, medicine and medical products.

State and local authorities are constantly working to provide the population with these goods.

There are no issues for concern.

State authorities are doing everything necessary to protect the population from coronavirus.

Strong measures have been taken at our border posts, checkpoints and airports to protect against the virus.

Physicians are working around the clock, and they have the necessary training.

Continued success depends not only on the efforts of the authorities, but also on the behaviour of each of us.

I urge you not to give in to panic, to observe all precautions.

There is a sufficient supply of food in the country.

There is no shortage of drugs and medical supplies.

All speculative attempts will be severely curbed.

I call on all Kyrgyz citizens to civil responsibility!

Only through joint efforts and strict discipline will we succeed!

In the morning of Mar.18 the first case of coronavirus has been reported in Kyrgyzstan.

Three men have been tested positive after returning from Saudi Arabia. All three Kyrgyz citizens are in Suzak region of Dzhalal-Abad Oblast.
