Bishkek, Dec.18, 2019. /Kabar/. On Dec. 15-17, at the invitation of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King of Saudi Arabia Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov has paid official visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, his press service said Tuesday.
Within the framework of the visit, the meeting of the Kyrgyz President with King of Saudi Arabia Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud took place in Riyadh. The sides held talks in narrow and extended formats, discussed the prospects of bilateral cooperation in trade and economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres.
As a result of the talks, a number of bilateral agreements were signed to deepen joint cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Saudi Arabia.
President Jeenbekov also held meeting with Chairman of the Majlis ash-Shura (Consultative Assembly) of Saudi Arabia Abdullah ibn Muhammad Al ash-Sheikh, discussed topical cooperation issues, including measures to strengthen inter-parliamentary relations between the two countries.
Besides, negotiations were held with Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors and Executive Director of the Saudi Fund for Development Khalid bin Sulaiman Al-Khudairy, and President of the Islamic Development Bank Bandar Hajjar.
The parties discussed the prospects of bilateral economic and investment cooperation, and outlined priorities for the near future.
President Sooronbay Jeenbekov also visited the new complex of the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Saudi Arabia in Riyadh on the occasion of its opening, and met with compatriots living in Saudi Arabia.
He has arrived in Bishkek on the night of Dec.17.
