Bishkek, Oct. 23, 2023 . / Kabar / . Two more helicopters have been added to Kyrgyzstan's military aircraft fleet, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov wrote on his Facebook page.
He said that in accordance with an agreement reached by presidents of the two countries in 2021, the fraternal Republic of Uzbekistan provided Kyrgyzstan with a military helicopter MI-8MTV as a gratuitous humanitarian aid, which was accepted by Kyrgyz air force specialists.
The Kyrgyz leader added that one of the same helicopters in Kyrgyzstan's military aircraft fleet was transferred to Uzbekistan's state-owned Chirchik Aviation Repair Plant for overhaul.
"The Ministry of Defense of Uzbekistan fully undertook the repair work.
Recently, the relevant structures of Uzbekistan reported that our helicopter is fully repaired and manned.
Specialists of our Ministry of Defense received the helicopter and delivered it along the Chirchik-Osh, Osh-Bishkek route, informing that the aircraft is fully ready to perform its work.
All this, of course, was made possible with the support and control of President of Uzbekistan, the esteemed Shavkat Mirziyoyev. In this regard, I express my deep gratitude to Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
Thus, the fleet of military aircraft of Kyrgyzstan has been replenished with two more helicopters," the president of Kyrgyzstan wrote.
