Bishkek, Sept. 14, 2018. /Kabar/. President Sooronbay Jeenbekov met with supreme muftis of Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, China, Lithuania, Russia, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Estonia, who arrived in the country to take part in the Third International Conference entitled “Spiritual Silk Road. Great Humanistic Traditions and Challenges of Today”.
The country leader expressed hope that the international conference will become a platform that unites peoples and countries in preventing the radicalization of the faithful, promoting religious tolerance and tolerant attitude towards each other.
Jeenbekov stgressed the the importance of the international conference with the participation of supreme spiritual figures, distinguished shed scientists and experts in theology, because they bring mutual benefit to the activities of both state bodies and religious organizations.
“The concurrent visits of supreme muftis of several countries is a significant event in the social, cultural, and spiritual life of our country. We attach great importance to the spiritual development of our citizens,”Jeenbekov said.
The participants of the meeting expressed their gratitude to the President and the people of Kyrgyzstan for a warm welcome and the high organizational level of the conference, and wished the country leader every success in his office, and Kyrgyzstanis — peace, welfare, and prosperity.
They expressed their views on the uniting idea of the conference, and told that the next Spiritual Silk Road International Conference will take place in Kazakhstan in 2019.
It was mentioned that the goal of the annual Spiritual Silk Road Conference is preservation of true Islamic spiritual traditions as a counter to radical movements and the spread of alien ideas among Muslims, which have their influence on the minds of the youth.
