Bishkek, Sept. 18, 2018. /Kabar/. President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbay Jeenbekov met on Tuesday with former First Lady of the Russian Federation, member of the Board of Trustees of Boris Yeltsin Presidential Center Naina Yeltsina, who arrived in Kyrgyzstan on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University.
The press service of the Kyrgyz President’s Office reported that the country leader expressed appreciation for her visit to Kyrgyzstan and participation in the celebration of the 25th anniversary of Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University (KRSU), named after first President of the Russian Federation Boris Nikolayevich Yeltsin.
“This university is one of the most successful projects of the Kyrgyz-Russian relations. All these years the KRSU has been successfully accomplishing the high mission entrusted to it — the university maintains the single educational and scientific space, promotes new knowledge and technologies. It will become additional impetus in acquiring knowledge for the students who will receive scholarships from you today”, the President noted.
Sooronbay Jeenbekov invited Naina Iosifovna to take part in the International Issyk-Kul Forum of intellectuals, dedicated to the 90th anniversary of Chyngyz Aitmatov.
Naina Yeltsina expressed her gratitude for a warm welcome and the invitation. She expressed confidence that the KRSU, as one of the successful projects of the bilateral relations, will honorably continue the best traditions of the two countries.
President Sooronbay Jeenbekov presented Naina Yeltsina a collection of Chyngyz Aitmatov’s works.
