Bishkek, Feb. 14, 2023 / Kabar/. President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov today met with Speaker of the National Assembly of Hungary Laszlo Köver in Budapest.
An exchange of views took place on topical issues of inter-parliamentary cooperation, as well as on the bilateral, regional and international agenda.
The Speaker of the National Assembly of Hungary, Laszlo Köver, warmly welcomed the Kyrgyz president on behalf of the Hungarian parliament, stressing that the friendly visit of Sadyr Zhaparov would give a new, strong impetus to the development of interaction between the fraternal peoples.
Laszlo Köver noted significant achievements in trade, economic, cultural, humanitarian and other areas of cooperation, adding that there is significant potential for developing and strengthening relations.
Sadyr Zhaparov, in turn, noted the high level of cooperation between the countries that have established warm, friendly relations and maintain regular contacts at all levels.
He stressed that Hungary is a brotherly country for Kyrgyzstan.
The president also praised the fact that Hungary became the first country of the European Union with which Kyrgyzstan established a strategic partnership.
The head of state noted that over the years of cooperation, the countries have come a long and fruitful path: the embassies of the countries successfully operate in Bishkek and Budapest, the Strategic Council has been created, the work of the Hungarian-Kyrgyz Development Fund has been launched, work is underway within the framework of the Kyrgyz-Hungarian intergovernmental Commission on economic cooperation, the Business council, Kyrgyz students study at the best universities in Hungary.
At the same time, Sadyr Zhaparov confirmed that the two states still have significant potential for further development and strengthening of the strategic partnership.
At the end of the meeting, Sadyr Zhaparov invited Laszlo Köver to visit Kyrgyzstan and made an introductory tour of the building of the Hungarian Parliament.
