Qingdao, June 10, 2018. / Kabar /. President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov at the margins of the 18th meeting of leaders of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization met with President of Mongolia Haltmaagiin Battulga.
Jeenbekov noted that he was very glad to get acquainted personally with the Mongolian President, stressing that Mongolia and Kyrgyzstan are connected by long historical and cultural ties, the peoples of the two countries have much in common and akin.
"I am sure that our meeting will serve to further strengthen bilateral relations between Kyrgyzstan and Mongolia. There are absolutely no differences between our countries that interfere with fruitful cooperation based on friendship, mutual understanding and mutual trust," Jeenbekov said, the Kyrgyz President's press service reported.
He stressed that the Kyrgyz side was pleased with the news about the transformation of the Consulate General of Mongolia in Bishkek into the Embassy. "Such a step will undoubtedly make a tangible contribution to the development of relations between the two countries," Jeenbekov said.
The President of Kyrgyzstan invited his colleague to visit the Third World Nomad Games in September this year.
Battulga congratulated Jeenbekov on his victory in the presidential elections in Kyrgyzstan, wished successes in a responsible state post.
He also wished success to Kyrgyzstan and President Sooronbay Jeenbekov in the upcoming chairmanship of the SCO.
Haltmaagiin Battulga expressed his hope that Kyrgyzstan will also open its diplomatic mission in Mongolia.
Responding to Jeenbekov's invitation to visit the Nomad Games, Battulga said that he would definitely come to the event with his delegation.
During the meeting, an exchange of views took place on the development of parliamentary democracy. The sides also discussed prospects for cooperation between the two countries within the framework of the SCO, the development of bilateral trade and economic relations.
