Bishkek, Nov. 22, 2017. /Kabar/. President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev is on a state visit to the Republic of Korea at the invitation of President Mun Zhe In.
During high-level talks, it is planned to discuss a wide range of issues on bilateral agenda. This includes prospects for further development of interstate relations in the political, trade-economic, financial-investment, scientific-technical, cultural-humanitarian and other spheres, as well as to exchange views on regional and international issues.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev will also meet with the Speaker of the National Assembly and Prime Minister of the Republic of Korea, the Uzbek President Press service reported.
He will also take part in Uzbek-South Korean business forum. The forum will gather heads of leading economic and financial institutions and large entrepreneurs of the two countries.
As a result of the visit, it is expected that the Presidents of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea will adopt a Joint Statement on the comprehensive deepening of the strategic partnership. They will also sign about 70 documents between the various departments of two states. This will contribute to strengthening and expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields.
The volume of direct investments of the Republic of Korea attracted to the economy of Uzbekistan, exceeded 7 billion dollars. In Uzbekistan, there are 461 enterprises with Korean capital (386 joint ventures and 75 enterprises with 100 percent Korean capital) and 75 South Korean companies are accredited in Uzbekistan.
