Bishkek, Jan. 19, 2023 / Kabar/. The state visit of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Kyrgyzstan will take place in the near future, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Jeenbek Kulubaev told during a press conference at Kabar Agency.
The minister did not give an exact date. According to him, the discussion of the state visit began in November 2022 after the official visit of Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Vladimir Norov to Kyrgyzstan.
“During the visit of my Uzbek colleague, the details of the agenda were discussed and a number of issues were identified that need to be worked out before the visit. The visit was planned for 2022, but due to the climate situation and internal processes, the Uzbek side asked to postpone the visit. Today, the relevant bodies are working out specific dates for the event. We plan that the meeting will take place in the near future,” he said.
Earlier it was reported that President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev will arrive in Kyrgyzstan on December 9 to attend a meeting of the heads of state of the EAEU. Later, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic reported that the state visit of President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Kyrgyzstan was postponed.
