Bishkek, Feb.7, 2020. /Kabar/. Today, Feb. 7 President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbay Jeenbekov received Ombudsman of the country Tokon Mamytov.
Measures to improve the system of protection of rights and freedoms of citizens, and the activities of the human rights institution were discussed, the press service of the President reported on Friday.
The Ombudsman provided information on activities to review and verify the facts and appeals of citizens about violations of their rights and freedoms, and to assist in their restoration.
Tokon Mamytov stressed that appeals from the population mainly concern the activities of law enforcement and judicial bodies, housing issues, the quality of medical and educational services provided, etc.
He added the Ombudsman's annual report "On the observance of human and civil rights and freedoms in the Kyrgyz Republic" report for 2019 is being prepared and will be submitted for consideration of the Jogorku Kenesh (Kyrgyz Parliament).
President Jeenbekov noted the special role of the Institute of Ombudsman in taking effective measures to protect human rights and prevent any form of discrimination against civil rights and freedoms.
He drew attention to the need to respond promptly to all violations of the dignity and freedoms of citizens.
