Bishkek, Nov.15, 2024. /Kabar/. As part of his working trip to Osh Oblast of Kyrgyzstan, President Sadyr Zhaparov took part in the opening ceremony of the new village of Jany-Barak in Kara-Suu region, his press service said.
Greeting the villagers, the Kyrgyz leader noted that today is a special day for everyone: for him, for the local population and for all the Kyrgyz people.
Sadyr Zhaparov emphasized that the construction of a new village is a landmark event in the life of Kyrgyzstan. By resettling from an exclave that was in another country, Kyrgyz people find hope and an opportunity to build their destiny in their native land.
The president noted that Barak village, located in Korgon-Dobo, Andijan Province of Uzbekistan, was the largest exclave of Kyrgyzstan. It was part of the Ak-Tash village district of Kara-Suu region, and residents faced various difficulties: at checkpoints, they had to wait for hours to be checked.
Sadyr Zhaparov noted that in the process of delimitation of the Kyrgyz-Uzbek border, the issue of Barak village was also discussed. In March 2024, at the meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan, an agreement was reached: Uzbekistan will dismantle buildings in the village, and the Kyrgyz side will organize the resettlement of residents.
As a result of this agreement, there was a mutual redistribution of 208 hectares of land, and it was decided to establish the village of Jany-Barak on the new site. He emphasized that this agreement was the result of a fruitful foreign policy based on friendly and fraternal relations with the neighboring state.
The head of state also emphasized the work done to create infrastructure in the new village: 101 residential houses have been built, roads have been laid, electricity has been installed and wells for clean water have been drilled.
Social facilities such as a school, kindergarten, park, mosque, soccer field and landscaping have been provided in the village. Arable plots have been allocated for the farmers, and the farmers have already sown winter wheat on 50 hectares of land, which will give a start to the development of agricultural production.
He emphasized that the construction of Jany-Barak village started on May 6 this year, and in seven months the residents received modern and comfortable houses. The foundation of this village is a significant step, which is important not only for its new residents, but also for the strengthening and development of the whole country.
